LOGLINE: A young slacker and her cousin struggle to maintain her parent's decaying building and unruly tenants, but when her father threatens to sell the building, she is determined to uphold the promise she made to her late mother.


WRITER BIO: Kia T. Barbee is an avid storyteller, creative producer and produced playwright. Her most current play Roommates was performed at The Wild Project Theater. Kia has had showcases at Jeff Daniel’s Purple Rose Theater Company, Naked Angels Theater, HERE Arts Center and New Freedom Theater. As a producer and creative consultant with other screenwriters and film festivals, Kia has worked with award winning filmmakers and screenwriters. Kia founded and produces ScriptRead, an interactive themed stage reading series to highlight diverse writers. She is currently developing a time travel satire anthology series and writing a supernatural themed novel, The Rebirth. Kia is a member of the WGAE and Dramatist Guild.
