Storyteller Session: BRAIDING MEMORY by Lynnette Harris

BRAIDING MEMORY

Afro-Futurist 15-Minute Stage Play by Lynnette Harris

LOGLINE: In 2120 Aotearoa, when a young African-American sits in his Zimbabwean hairdresser's chair, two displaced Africans confront the risks of attending the Darnella Fraser Memorial Cookout.

WRITER BIO: From being a descendent of African and Indigenous North American enslaved peoples who was born of the southern United States then blended into New England, who has lived within a Taiwanese family and a Māori family, my writing comes from a lifetime of having consistent outsider-insider access. So it celebrates the voices of characters who are significant yet unseen — characters who challenge both what is considered impossible and how to get it done.
